West Ham United deliver a private virtual event with airline sponsor Eva Air

Premier League Club West Ham United use Reactoo’s market leading Watch Together Technology & Remote Production suite to deliver a truly engaging watchalong event for their audiences.

Engaging fans and delivering for sponsors are two key areas for West Ham United. With the pandemic keeping fans away from the stadium, the club decided to step-up their digital content by creating virtual events to connect fans directly to the players and provide brand awareness for their sponsors.  

Reactoo’s Watch Together technology was embedded in the club’s website creating a full branded environment. This feature allowed fans to have their own virtual ‘room’ and they could invite 2 friends to watch and enjoy the broadcast together whilst being able to chat via webcam.

The first private virtual event was with airline sponsor Eva Air – they opted for a live watchalong hosted by Chris Scull, with guests including former West Ham striker Carlton Cole, first team players Jesse Lingard, Arthur Masuaku, Angelo Ogbonna and Club Manager David Moyes, all joining remotely via webcam.

Reactoo’s Cloud Studio was used to create the broadcast, connecting all of the talent in different locations across the web. Whilst retaining the West Ham look and feel, all aspects of the broadcast were tailored to Eva Air enabling the sponsors branding to be visible throughout the event. 

The show took the audience through Carlton’s career highlights with a pre-recorded VT, Q&A with players Jesse, Arthur and Angelo and ended with a Q&A with Club Manager David Moyes answering questions fans had sent in directly to create a lively and truly engaging event.
