Reactoo Joins SRT Alliance offering High Quality, Low Latency Video Streaming Over the Internet

Reactoo will use SRT to provide more options to broadcasters and streamers using their market leading remote production solutions.

London, April 2021 – Reactoo, the market leading Watch Together Technology and Remote Production service, today announced that it has joined the SRT Alliance, the open-source initiative dedicated to overcoming the challenges of low-latency video streaming.

Reactoo’s aim is to increase the options and features available to clients using remote production for broadcasting and streaming. Implementing SRT protocol provides clients with high quality, low-latency streaming in a secure and reliable way across the public Internet. The SRT Alliance, founded by Haivision in April 2017, already has more than 450 members. Its mission is to overcome the challenges of low-latency live streaming by supporting the collaborative development of SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), the fastest growing open source streaming project. SRT is a free open source video transport protocol and technology stack originally developed and pioneered by Haivision that enables the delivery of high-quality and secure, low-latency video across the public internet.

“Reactoo is always seeking ways to improve the quality of our service and address our clients’ evolving needs. We are proud to join the SRT Alliance to develop an open-source video transport protocol enabling us to provide customers with robust, high performance, low-latency streaming.” said Dušan Brejka, Chief Technology Officer of Reactoo.

“Reactoo will be working directly with customers to implement SRT protocol in our remote production and OTT services. We are always seeking to support the very best technologies as part of our real-time engagement and cloud production platform, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for us as part of the SRT Alliance.” said Marc Williams, Founder of Reactoo.

“With the SRT Alliance, Reactoo is joining an industry movement to improve the way the world streams video,” said Suso Carrillo, Director of SRT Alliance at Haivision. “We’re pleased to see the SRT protocol being actively implemented by some of the world’s biggest broadcast and enterprise streaming workflows as its adoption and industry-wide recognition continues to grow, becoming the defacto standard for low latency internet streaming.”

About the SRT Alliance
The SRT Alliance is a collaborative community of industry leaders and developers striving to achieve lower latency internet video transport by continuously improving SRT, an open source video transport protocol and technology stack. Originally developed and pioneered by Haivision, SRT optimizes streaming performance across unpredictable networks with secure streams and easy firewall traversal, bringing the best quality live video over the worst networks. Haivision was awarded an Emmy® for Technology and Engineering from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for developing the SRT protocol.
