1Xtra Live 2020 shortlisted for Live Music Innovation Of The Year at the Music Week Awards

Produced by BBC Radio 1Xtra and powered by Reactoo, the 1Xtra Live 2020 virtual event has been shortlisted for recognition at the prestigious awards ceremony later in the year.

1Xtra Live 2020 was hosted by Reece Parkinson and Snoochie Shy at the London studio, and throughout the show they were joined by artists located around the world including: Headie One ft. Skepta (UK), Popcaan (Jamaica), Chloe X Hallie (LA), Young T & Bugsey(UK), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Jacquees (Atlanta), Shenseea (Jamaica), M1llionz (Jamaica), and headline performer Burna Boy (UK). The artists gave exclusive interviews and spectacular performances, and the event-wide live chat allowed Reece and Snoochie to engage with fans and see their reactions in real time.

The virtual event was created using Reactoo’s Cloud Studio platform which allowed the producers to remotely connect the performers via webcam and vision mix any pre-recorded content into the broadcast In addition, Reactoo integrated its Watch Together technology allowing fans to create virtual ‘rooms’ where they could enjoy the evening of music with family and friends. The event was tailored to present the look and feel of BBC Radio 1Xtra throughout, and the combination of the great hosts, interviews and performances ensured a dynamic and engaging watchalong for the entire audience.

The winner will be announced at Music Week Awards taking place on 14th September 2021.
